Fardokht Gorouhi is an independent curator based in Paris. Over the past decade she has worked with emerging and mid-career artists across painting, sculpture, photography and the moving image — in galleries, institutions and site-specific settings.
How I work
Her practice is deliberately selective. Rather than chase volume, she commits to a small number of projects each year and gives each the attention — and the writing — it deserves.
The thinking is the work. Everything else follows from it.
She advises artists on direction and presentation, collectors on acquisitions, and institutions on exhibitions and commissions. The thread through all of it is a belief that the right context lets the work speak — and that a curator's first duty is to look slowly, and tell the truth about what she sees.
